In partnership with over 80 embassies, along with museums and other cultural organizations in Washington DC, we present a variety of private cultural and networking events for our membership in the DC area. Fencing Lessons: Introduction to the Olympic sport of Sabre Fencing

Sunday, March 3, 2019 at 11:30 AM: Channel your inner Luke Skywalker or Princess Leia and join us to learn the Olympic sport of Sabre Fencing with an amazing workout! Follow your swashbuckling dreams and join us for an exciting lesson on swordsmanship and chivalry. The lesson will cover the basics of fencing in a relaxed and fun setting. All the equipment needed will be provided and prior fencing experience is not needed to sign up. Through a combination  of drills and exercises, you will learn the fundamentals of footwork, bladework, and tactical actions and put it all together with some practice bouting. After the lesson, you will be able to practice your newly learned fencing skills with other ICDC members. Reserve your tickets now.

French Embassy Dance Soiree

Our dance soirees at the French Embassy provide a wonderful opportunity to meet other ICDC members while learning how to ballroom dance and enjoying French desserts and wine.

French Embassy Summer Music Festival

Each year on the summer solstice, the French gather in the streets to celebrate the change of seasons with la Fête de la Musique — a dynamic tapestry of music and dancing. ICDC members enjoyed this annual Summer Music and Garden Festival, the largest cultural festival hosted at the French Embassy. The lively atmosphere in the French Embasys garden included over 50 bands and street performers from around the world.

Join us on your own or with friends for an exciting culinary journey to Spain as we show you how to make Paella in the company of your ICDC friends. Your evening starts with a refreshing glass of sangria and Spanish appetizers. Then, the chefs at La Tasca will demonstrate the basics of making paella. You will learn how to select ingredients and create your own paella from scratch at home.
