Event Description

Join us on your own or with friends for an exciting culinary journey to Spain as we show you how to make Paella in the company of your ICDC friends. Your evening starts with a refreshing glass of sangria and Spanish appetizers. Then, the chefs at La Tasca will demonstrate the basics of making a meat based Paella that includes both chicken and chorizo (pork) in the recipe.  You will learn how to select ingredients and create your own paella from scratch at home. Once the paella is cooked, you will be invited to sit down for a hearty meal, including the paellas you just made. Tapas, dessert, coffee, and Sangria will be served.

This is a great opportunity for you to meet and socialize with other ICDC members as you develop your culinary skills! Space is limited so please reserve your tickets early!

About Las Tasca
In the very heart of DC’s Penn Quarter, La Tasca brings Spain to downtown Washington, showcasing signature tapas, hearty paellas and refreshing sangrias in a lively atmosphere over two dining floors.  The restaurant is steps away from the convention center, the Verizon Center, the National Mall, and the Red Line Metro.

Event Agenda (May change)

Please arrive promptly at the designated time, as the cooking class starts on time.

The event is presented as a social event where you have the opportunity to meet other attendees as well as have the the opportunity to make paella with other participants. There will be several hands-on paella cooking stations setup with a stove and all the necessary ingredients. About 5-7 participants will be assigned to each paella cooking station so everyone has the opportunity to see and take part in making paella under the direction of the chefs at La Tasca!

The paella making class is followed by dinner.

If you purchase more than 2 tickets, and wish to be seated together, please ensure that you arrive prior to 7:05 PM. Since guests are seated in the order they arrive, if you arrive late as a part of a group of more than 2 guests, while we will do everything possible to serve you, we might be unable to accommodate your group at the same paella making station for the paella making. However, you can still be seated together during the dinner that follows the paella making, in case you arrive late and we are unable to accommodate everyone in your group at the same paella making station.
