Approximately 1,500 internationally-minded professionals celebrated the dawn of 2009 in style at the Wardman Park Marriott Hotel. The event featured internationally-inspired cuisine, music, and dancing to the music by 5 live orchestras. We look forward to seeing you at our 2010 New Year's Eve Gala celebration!

We enjoyed a special and rare opportunity to experience an evening of music, art, and culture at the Embassy of Ukraine. The evening included a dinner buffet feast of traditional Ukrainian delicacies as well as a performance by Ukrainian pianist Pavel Gintov from Kiev. We also browsed the embassy’s rare collection of beautiful paintings and artistic pieces. We hope to see you at our next embassy reception!

We enjoyed an evening of live jazz followed by a Latin and international dance soiree under stars with views of the DC skyline . It was a great opportunity to network and socialize with internationally-minded professionals in town. We enjoyed Champagne & Chocolate Tasting at Co Co Sala. It was a wonderful way to experience chocolate in it's purest form. We experienced five different types of couverture in three different states: solid, semi-solid (ganache), and liquid.

We traveled to Bangladesh for a black tie gala, cultural presentation, and dinner reception at the Embassy of Bangladesh. It was a wonderful opportunity for ICDC members to meet the Ambassador of Bangladesh, representatives of World Watch, as well as other distinguished guests and ICDC members in attendance. We discovered the Dumbarton Oaks Museum collection featuring extraordinary examples of Byzantine, Pre-Columbian Art, and European Masterpieces. We hope to see you at our next upcoming guided tour at the Dumbarton Oaks museum on Saturday, October 17, 2009.

We learned how to prepare a complete indian meal followed by lunch at the Heritage Indian restaurant in Georgetown. We look forward to seeing you at our next Indian cooking class scheduled for Sunday October 7.

We embarked on a fascinating journey of discovery of the Chinese art collection of the Freer Gallery of Art. We hope to see you at our private tour of the Highlights of the Freer Gallery of Art scheduled for Sunday October 14.

We learned how to dance the Waltz and Cha cha at the Embassy of France in time for our Masquarade Ball and Anniversary Gala on Saturday October 20. The lessons were followed by time to dance with other ICDC members.

ICDC members attended a very special reception at the Embassy of Romania to celebrate the entry of Romania into the European Union. The evening included a dinner reception and a piano concert performed for you by pianists from the International Society for Musically Gifted Children.

We enjoyed a relaxing Sunday afternoon cruise on the Potomac combined with an all-you-can-eat crab feast. We hope to see you at our final crab feast of the year scheduled for Sunday September 23.

We enjoyed a Polynesian luau at the Embassy of New Zealand to experience two distinct Polynesian cultures: The Maori though their Polynesian costumes, song, and dance - followed by a Hawaiian luau experience. The evening also featured a taste of New Zealand with Polynesian (New Zealand and Hawaiian) inspired dishes. After a spectacular Maori dance and music performance, we enjoyed a night of dancing.

We concluded the weekend with a relaxing evening of kayaking on the Potomac River followed by a picnic at our Georgetown dock overlooking the Washington monuments. You are invited to join us for our next kayaking session scheduled for Sunday September 23.

Our monthly tennis lessons provide a great opportunity to practice your tennis and improve your game by practicing with other club members. The lessons are followed by a picnic and time to practice. Our next tennis lesson is scheduled for Saturday September 22.

They provide a wonderful opportunity to enjoy sights of the Washington monuments and the DC skyline while making new friends from around the world. On a magnificent summer evening, we enjoyed a memorable night of salsa dancing under the stars to the sounds of Origem. We danced the night away while enjoying panoramic views of the Washington skyline.

We discovered the modern art collection contained within the East Building of the National Gallery of Art. The private tour was lead by a docent of the National Gallery of Art and was preceded by lunch as the Cascade Cafe. We look forward to seeing you at our next art gallery tour!

Our Friday evening sunset margarita cruises on the Potomac are a wonderful way to start your weekend. Watch the sunset and the Washington skyline come to life at a distance while enjoying a 2-hour relaxing cruise from the Georgetown Waterfront.

Gently gliding inches above the Potomac is a wonderful way to enjoy nature and wild life along the Potomac. After the kayaking session we enjoyed a relaxing picnic at our private dock while meeting other ICDC members. We invite you to join us for sunset and moonlight kayaking on Sunday August 26.

Each year we organize Washington’s premiere New Year’s Eve Gala with entertainment and cuisine from around the world. To ring in 2007 in style we assembled an incomparable evening of dancing, sophistication, and elegance in the heart of Washington DC with the very best selection of live entertainment, including 5 live bands: Swing and ballroom dance music performed by the Tom Cunningham Orchestra, Origem Latin salsa band, Jamaican Reggae and Calypso Band, A Jazz ensemble, and an Irish band. Festivities for the evening also include two stunning balloon drops at midnight, caricature artist drawings, and mock casino gambling. Attendees also enjoy free flowing champagne throughout the evening, party favors, a full 5-hour premium open bar, champagne toast at mid-night, and gourmet tea and coffee.

On the weekend of the summer solstice, we experienced a magical evening at the exquisite Grand Ballroom of the National Museum of Women in the Arts. The unforgettable Shakespearean celebration included music, food, wine and dancing to a 30-piece classical orchestra performing the world's beloved Viennese Waltzes and ballroom music. During the last half of the evening, we danced salsa, merengue, and other Latin dances to the sounds of the Origem Latin band.

We learned how to prepare a complete Indian meal including dessert. After the cooking class we enjoyed an Indian meal while socializing with other attendees. We look forward to seeing you at a future cooking class!

Our swing vs. salsa dance lessons are one of our most popular dance events. After learning how to dance swing and salsa, we enjoyed a night of dancing to a mix of swing and salsa music. The evening also included a dance performance and mini dance contest.

We took part in an inspiring tour of the National Gallery of Art's French Art collection after meeting all the attendees for lunch at the Cascade Cafe. We look forward to seeing you at our upcoming tour of the Freer Gallery of Art on Saturday August 25.

We learned to play tennis with the help of expert instructors. The attendees were assigned to five different courts based on skill level. On a beautiful summer afternoon we learned how to sail on the Potomac River. Afterwards, we enjoyed a picnic lunch while meeting other attendees who took part in the sailing lessons.

Our Languages of the World language discussion series is very popular with ICDC members who speak a foreign language. In July, we practiced out French, Spanish, and German with the help of native speakers at each table. Our next language discussion session is scheduled for Sunday, September 09.

Over 40 ICDC members took part in a hiking trip to Great Falls Park in Maryland. We enjoyed the nature and wildlife as well as the spectacular views of Great Falls. After enjoying a picnic lunch, we hiked back home. Our hiking trips are ideal for enjoying the outdoors as well as meeting other ICDC members who are outdoor enthusiasts.

We learned how to dance the Argentine Tango, as it is danced in Buenos Aires Argentina. Afterwards we enjoyed a night of tango and Latin dancing while meeting other ICDC members who love to dance.

We had the best seats in town to enjoy the Independence Day Fireworks display. After watching a spectacular fireworks display we returned back to the dock.

After enjoying the sights of illuminated Washington monuments at a distance, we kayaked back to our private dock in Georgetown for a relaxing picnic dinner while meeting and socializing with other attendees.
