We are Washington's premiere organization for internationally-minded professionals who enjoy international cultural experiences as well as social, educational, and outdoor events while engaged in philanthropic efforts. We invite you to learn about us, browse our event calendar, and join us as we venture out to discover your city and your world. In addition to attending events, there are many ways to be involved either by volunteering or joining a committee!

SUNDAY: Tennis Lessons with Practice Time: All skill levels, including beginners, welcome! Meet and socialize with other members who love to play tennis. Racquet rentals are available. Wednesday, July 30 Languages of the World: French, Spanish, German, and Italian language discussion. You are invited to join us to practice a foreign language with the help of native speakers while enjoying the friendly company of other ICDC members who speak the same language. Thursday, July 31 Sunset Margarita Cruise on the Potomac. Our last cruise sold out and we have organized another cruise by popular demand! Conclude your week with a relaxing cruise on the Potomac to meet ICDC members and make new friends from around the world. Catered light food from Lebanese Taverna will be served including: hommos, couscous pilaf, tabouleh salad, beef shashawarma, Lebanese salad, and assorted Baklava! Sunday, August 03 Rooftop Sunday Barbecue Brunch at the Embassy Row Hilton. Join us at rooftop of the Embassy of Row Hilton for a memorable summer experience amidst Washington's magnificent monuments. Join us Sunday afternoon for a sumptuous barbecue brunch by the pool. Friday, August 8 Embassy of Saudi Arabia Dinner Reception and Cultural Presentation. You are invited to an evening of Saudi Arabian culture and cuisine along with the opportunity to meet the embassy staff and ICDC members with an interest in international cultures. Wednesday, July 30, 2008. Languages of the World: French, Spanish, German, and Italian language discussion. Our Languages of the World series is on one of our most popular events. We have been offering this event to our multilingual members for more than 4 years and it is a great opportunity to practice a foreign language! Saturday, August 09, 2008. Sailing Lessons on the Potomac River: No prior experience necessary!. Learn how to sail with us on the Potomac River. In just one day, you will learn all the basics of navigating a sail boat while experiencing magnificent views of the Washington DC skyline from the Potomac River. This is also a great opportunity to meet and socialize with other ICDC members who love the outdoors and sailing. All prior sailing lessons have sold out well in advance. Sunday, August 10, 2008. Waterfall Hiking trip to Great Falls Park, Maryland. Great falls is a hidden gem of a National Park located just minutes from DC where the Potomac plunges seventy-six feet through a deep gorge creating a series of scenic waterfalls. Thursday, August 14, 2008. Two to Tango: An Evening in Buenos Aires - Argentine Tango Lessons and Latin dance party. Join us for our Argentine tango lesson followed by tango and Latin dance party at PASHA NIGHTCLUB, a chic and ultramodern nightclub conveniently located just a couple of blocks from Du Pont Circle. Start your evening with a Tango lesson and enjoy a night of music, dancing, and good company. The night continues with dancing to tango and Latin music. You are welcome to come by yourself. Sunday, August 17, 2008. Sunset and Moonlight kayaking on the Potomac & picnic at our Georgetown dock. We have timed one of our popular sunset kayaking sessions at Georgetown to coincide with a full moon to make the experience even more spectacular. Friday, August 29, 2008. French Embassy Friday Night Dance Soiree and Lessons: Learn to dance the Tango and Merengue. Got plans for Friday night? Start your weekend with a dance soiree at the Embassy of France. Just in time for our Fifth Anniversary Gala and Masquerade Ball, we have combined our popular dance lessons at the Embassy of France with a night of ballroom dancing following the dance lessons. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn to dance and practice dancing while meeting other ICDC members. Let us show you how to dance the tango, one of the most elegant and romantic ballroom dances followed by merengue one of the most popular and exciting Latin dances! This is also a wonderful opportunity to learn and practice dancing in time for our Masquerade Ball and Anniversary Gala at the National Museum of Women in the Arts on Saturday October 25. Saturday, September 06, 2008. Rock Creek Park Summer Hike. For Washingtonians who love outdoors, Rock Creek Park offers numerous trails that help escape the urban life. Join us for a relaxing hiking trip to Rock Creek Park to discover one of Washington’s hidden treasures and an oasis of nature. Meet other outdoor enthusiasts as we hike a trail that offers a glimpse of different streams as well as hill top views of Rock Creek Park! Click here for tickets.

Saturday, September 13, 2008. Fencing Lessons Including Equipment Rentals. Join us for an exciting lesson on swordsmanship and chivalry. The lesson will cover the basics of fencing in a relaxed, fun, and SAFE setting. All equipment will be provided. After the lesson, practice your fencing skills with other attendees. Sunday, September 14, 2008. Indian cooking class with lunch and dessert at Georgetown. We had such a great time at our last Indian cooking class, we have scheduled another one by popular demand. Please join your ICDC friends for an Indian cooking class followed by lunch at one of the most celebrated Indian restaurants in town. Tuesday, September 16, 2008. Lebanese Taverna Hands-on Cooking class with reception and Dinner with Wine. Please join us for our hands-on cooking class at Lebanese Taverna complete with a brief reception at the beginning and dinner with wine after the lesson. Would you like to recreate your favorite Lebanese Taverna dish at home? Whether you are a recreational chef or a beginner, join in on the fun and learn from the Chef at Lebanese Taverna! Thursday, September 25, 2008. Embassy of Poland Dinner Reception and Piano Concert. We cordially requests the pleasure of your company for an evening of music, culture, art, and cuisine at the Embassy of Poland. This is a wonderful and rare opportunity to discover Poland through all your senses. The evening begins with a short presentation about Poland. Afterwards sit back and relax to a delightful piano concert performed by child prodigy Jeffrey Ly featuring the works Chopin. After the piano recital you will be invited to feast on a buffet of traditional Polish delicacies prepared by the embassy chef along with wine and Polish spirits served at the open bar.
