We are Washington's premiere organization for internationally-minded professionals who enjoy international cultural experiences as well as social, educational, and outdoor events while helping the community. FRIDAY: Salsa vs. Merengue - Independence Day Dance Soiree with Dance Lessons at K Street Lounge. Tickets start at only $5! Start your July 4th weekend festivities with a Latin dance soiree and learn to dance the salsa AND the merengue! Both singles and couples are welcome. You do not need a partner to attend, as partners will be rotated during the lesson. No prior dance experience is necessary, as we will have you dancing in no time! SATURDAY: Independence Day July 4th Fireworks Cruise on the Potomac boarding At Georgetown.Depart from the Georgetown waterfront to to watch the 4th of July fireworks while enjoying the company of your ICDC friends. We invite you to join us for a relaxing cruise on the Potomac River and experience a spectacular fireworks display. Light food along with $3 margaritas will be served at the cash bar. SUNDAY: Rock Creek Park Summer Hike. Join us for a relaxing hiking trip to Rock Creek Park to discover one of Washington’s hidden treasures and an oasis of nature. Meet other outdoor enthusiasts as we hike a trail that offers a glimpse of different streams as well as hill top views of Rock Creek Park! Click here for tickets.

Saturday, July 11 Bastille Day at the Embassy of France - A grand French feast of music, art, culture, cuisine wine and dance! Come alone or bring your friends to take an imaginary trip to France as you visit different Parisian "arrondissements"  (neighborhoods) throughout the evening. Cocktails and a silent auction will begin the festivities, and you will have a chance to bid on restaurant and hotel vouchers, paintings and other pieces of art, and luxury items. You will also be invited to taste their mouth-watering creations on a delectable buffet as you dance the night away in the French Embasys ballroom! Tickets are only $85 for a limited time!

Sunday, July 12 Indian cooking class with lunch and dessert at Georgetown. Join your ICDC friends for an Indian cooking class followed by lunch at one of the most celebrated Indian restaurants in town. Sunday, July 12 Fencing Lessons Including Equipment Rentals. Join us for an exciting lesson on swordsmanship and chivalry. The lesson will cover the basics of fencing in a relaxed, fun, and safe setting. All equipment will be provided. After the lesson, practice your fencing skills with other attendees. Sunday, July 12 Sunset and Moonlight kayaking on the Potomac & picnic at our Georgetown dock.We have timed one of our popular sunset kayaking sessions at Georgetown to coincide with a full moon to make the experience even more spectacular. Tuesday, July 14 An Evening in Oman: Travel with us to Oman to learn the art of calligraphy and experience music, photos, and traditional attire from Oman.Practice calligraphy during the hands-on presentation where you will also learn how to write your name in Arabic. Gain new insights into the art of the calligraphy and its importance in the Middle East from master calligraphers who have traveled all the way from the Sultanate of Oman. You will also have the opportunity to enjoy tea with us as you socialize and meet other ICDC members. Expand your horizons and gain a new perspective on the Middle East. Wednesday, July 15 Ethiopian Cooking Class with Dinner and Dessert: Join us for an exotic culinary journey! Take an exotic journey with us to Ethiopia to discover traditional Ethiopian cooking methods including homemade blends of spices, slow stewing methods and authentic ingredients. All dishes served for dinner will be served with "injera," a flat bread made of "Teff", a fine grain unique to Ethiopia. Included in this demonstration cooking class will be the famous Ethiopian coffee service, a real treat! Tickets for the cooking class with dinner and dessert only $49.

Thursday, July 16 Rooftop Happy Hour at the Embassy Row Hilton Hotel. Join us for Washington's international Happy Hour with the best views in town. Saturday, July 11, 2009. Volunteer at the Capital Area Food Bank to combat hunger. Spend an afternoon with ICDC Benefactors and help combat hunger in the Washington DC area. Our volunteer initiative at the Capital Area Food Bank is a wonderful way to help those who are less fortunate while meeting other compassionate ICDC members who care about our community. There is no charge to attend this event but reservations are mandatory. Please make your reservation online.

Saturday, July 11, 2009. Bastille Day at the Embassy of France - A grand French feast of music, art, culture, cuisine wine and dance!. With the full support of His Excellency Pierre Vimont, Ambassador of France to the United States and Consul General Michel Schaffhauser, the Comité Tricolore cordially invited you to its annual “Bastille Day at the Embassy of France,” where an evening of food, fun, music and dance awaits you! Take an imaginary trip to France as you visit different Parisian "arrondissements"  (neighborhoods) throughout the evening. Cocktails and a silent auction will begin the festivities, and you will have a chance to bid on restaurant and hotel vouchers, paintings and other pieces of art, and luxury items. Saturday, July 18, 2009. Golf Clinic with Practice Time at the National Golf Club. Join us for an afternoon of golf instruction at the National Golf Club. Both experienced golfers as well as those with less experience and first-time golfers are welcome. Club rentals will be available. Golf is one of the most relaxing and exciting outdoor activities for both business and pleasure. Your afternoon includes a 1-hour lesson with a golf pro followed by and a practice time afterwards. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn, practice, and meet other ICDC members who enjoy playing golf in a fun and easygoing environment. The event also includes the opportunity to meet and socialize with other attendees. Golf clinic includes sessions for beginners and advanced players. Sunday, July 19, 2009. Guided Tour of the Hirshhorn Museum with lunch at the Smithsonian Castle. Join us for a guided tour of the Hirshhorn Museum to experience the origins and evolution of the Smithsonian's museum of modern and contemporary art. This is also a great opportunity to meet other ICDC members who appreciate art while enjoying a meal in the Smithsonian Castle cafe. Wednesday, July 22, 2009. Two to Tango: An Evening in Buenos Aires - Argentine Tango Lessons and Latin dance party. The International Club of DC is pleased to invite you to "An Evening in Buenos Aires." Spend an evening with us and let us show you how to dance the Argentine Tango as it is danced in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Start your evening with a Tango lesson and enjoy a night of music, dancing, and good company. After the class, MezeTango dancers will offer you a special show, high in color and elegance, commemorating the glamorous years of the 1930s. The night continues with dancing to tango and Latin music. You are welcome to come by yourself. Celebrate the arrival of summertime with your ICDC friends at Hillwood Museum and Gardens to discover and explore one of the most comprehensive collections of eighteenth and nineteenth-century Russian Imperial art outside of Russia, as well as an extensive collection of eighteenth-century French decorative arts. Sunday, July 26, 2009. Waterfall Hiking trip to Great Falls Park, Maryland. Great falls is a hidden gem of a National Park located just minutes from DC where the Potomac plunges seventy-six feet through a deep gorge creating a series of scenic waterfalls. Tuesday, July 28, 2009. Languages of the World: French, Spanish, German, Italian, and Russian language discussion. Our Languages of the World series is on one of our most popular events. Do you speak French, Spanish, German, Italian, or Russian? Join us to practice a foreign language in a friendly and relaxed setting with the help of native speakers, We have been offering this event to our multilingual members for more than 6 years and it is a great opportunity to practice a foreign language! Saturday, September 12, 2009. Guided Garden Tour of Dumbarton Oaks Museum and Hillside Gardens in Georgetown. Join us to celebrate springtime in DC by joining us for a guided tour of Dumbarton Oaks Museum, where you will explore the Byzantine Collection, which ranks among the most significant collections of the World. The collection also includes important works from Western Europe. Afterwards, join us for a guided tour at Dumbarton Oaks Garden (weather permitting), which is magnificent during this time of the year. Wednesday, September 16, 2009. Lebanese Taverna Hands-on Cooking class with reception and Dinner with Wine.
