We are Washington's premiere organization for internationally-minded professionals who enjoy international cultural experiences as well as social, educational, and outdoor events while helping the community. Friday, May 24 A Night in Gibraltar: Embassy Row Hotel Rooftop Dance Soiree under the Stars to Live Music of Azul. Celebrate summer and commence your weekend festivities with us at the Embassy Row Hotel rooftop with an evening of live music and dancing under the stars amidst the Washington skyline with illuminated monuments at a distance. The lively band AZUL will be entertaining you with their sounds of Latin infused, Morroccan, Spanish, and North African sounds. You are welcome to come on your own or invite your friends to join us as the event presents a wonderful opportunity to meet and socialize with many other ICDC members! Our rooftop dance soiree under the stars is a great way to unwind and commence your weekend festivities! Don't miss this unique opportunity to enjoy spectacular views of the Washington DC skyline while dancing to a live band and enjoying the company of other ICDC members. Saturday, May 25 Tour of the US Capitol: Explore the exterior architectural majesty of Union Station, Library of Congress, and the Supreme Court, culminating in a tour of the US Capitol. Begin your tour at Union Station as you enjoy the breathtaking 96-foot coffered ceilings which have made Union Station one of the finest examples of Beaux-Arts architecture. Afterwards meet other ICDC members while touring the US Capitol, one of DC's most magnificent architectural masterpieces and a monument of Democracy. Our US Capitol Tours sell out well in advance. Sunday, May 26, 2013. Sunset and Moonlight kayaking on the Potomac & picnic at our Georgetown dock. We have timed one of our popular sunset kayaking sessions at Georgetown to coincide with a full moon to make the experience even more spectacular. Catch the orange colored sun setting for the first half of the trip and the Washington Monument under soft white lights for the last half. Thursday, May 30 Taste of Croatia: Discover Beautiful Croatia, "Land of a Thousand Islands," as you Experience Croatian cuisine, culture and traditions. The International Club of DC and the Embassy of Croatia cordially request the pleasure of your company at the Croatian Embassy for a reception and delightful evening of Croatian culture. Attend on your own or with friends to enjoy an Evening in Croatia featuring a dinner buffet feast of traditional Croatian delicacies as well as the opportunity to meet Croatians who are ICDC members while you discover a country rich in culture and history. This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate Croatian sights, sounds, food, and wine. Tickets for the reception are only $55 for a limited time.

Friday, May 31 After Hours Spring Soiree at the Kreeger Museum: An Exclusive and Delightful Art and Jazz Soiree with Monet, Picasso, Renoir, Cézanne, and your ICDC friends. The International Club of DC and the Kreeger Museum is pleased to present to you a wonderful evening of art and jazz! The Kreeger Museum, one of the world's finest museums of 19th and 20th century masterpieces of Monet, Picasso, Renoir, Cézanne, and others will be open just for ICDC members for an exclusive after-hours engagement featuring live jazz, appetizers, and cocktails. Tickets includes an open bar serving white wine and beer. Enjoy the exquisite surroundings of Philip Johnson’s architectural masterpiece while listening to jazz, sipping wine and viewing The Kreeger Museum’s special exhibition on display. Tickets start at only $35 for a limited time.

GREAT GATSBY BALL: Saturday, June 15 The Great Gatsby Ball at the National Museum of Women in the Arts: A Midsummer Night’s Gala Celebration of sophisticated music, art, wine, desserts and dance. We cordially request the pleasure of your company for a 1920s-themed Great Gatsby Ball at the National Museum of Women in the Arts, one of Washington’s most beautiful exquisite venues. F. Scott Fitzgerald’s novel “The Great Gatsby” characterized the glamor and decadence of the 1920s and you are invited to experience the elegance, splendor, and extravagance of 1920s America. You do not need a date to attend so come on your own or with friends. Whisper the password (or present your ticket!) to enter the secret world of speakeasy and discover the beautiful National Museum for Women in the Arts as it is reinvented for a night into a page from the F. Scotts Fitzgerald’s novel. Our Big Band will entertain you with thrilling 1920s era tunes whether you wish to dance the night away on the museum’s marble floor or simply enjoy a sophisticated evening on the museum’s mezzanine level overlooking the ballroom. Indulge in our Great Gatsby dessert feast with wine and drinks served at the open bar. Photos will be taken of arriving guests (singles, couples and group shots). Saturday, May 25, 2013. Tour of the US Capitol: Explore the exterior architectural majesty of Union Station, Library of Congress, and the Supreme Court, culminating in a tour of the US Capitol. Join us for a special private tour of the exterior architecture of the eastern end of the National Mall, culminating in the interior of the US Capitol. The tour starts at Union Station, where you will have the chance to enjoy the breathtaking 96-foot coffered ceilings which have made Union Station “one of the finest examples of Beaux-Arts style of architecture.” The tour will continue walking towards the Supreme Court and Library of Congress, as you take in from the outside the architectural wonder of the outer edifice of the buildings of the East National Mall, ending at the Capitol. Our Capitol tour starts with a 15 minute presentation of the history and architecture of this grand monument to democracy. Meet other ICDC members who appreciate the history and national heritage of United States. Our museum and gallery tours are some of our most popular events, and frequently sell out well in advance. Please reserve your tickets early, as capacity is limited.

Sunday, May 26, 2013. Sunset and Moonlight kayaking on the Potomac & picnic at our Georgetown dock. Conclude your weekend with a most memorable kayaking session by the Georgetown waterfront. Watch the sunset over the Potomac as we kayak around the Roosevelt Island with spectcular views of Georgetown and the Washington monuments. Gently floating just inches from the water is a wonderful way to experience the monuments! After the sunset, watch a full moon rise above the sky to illuminate the Potomac River and the monuments. Join us to celebrate spring in DC with a guided tour of Dumbarton Oaks, which is magnificent during this time of the year. Within the garden rooms, trees become the centerpieces, frame a view, or enclose a space. Benches are nestled into corners or under arbors, and were designed for their beauty and utility. For Washingtonians who love outdoors, Rock Creek Park offers numerous trails that help escape the urban life. You are invited to join us for a relaxing hiking trip to Rock Creek Park as you discover trees and wild-life along hilltops and streams. Discover one of Washington’s hidden treasures and an oasis of nature and meet other outdoor enthusiasts! Spend an afternoon with us discovering the the architectural majesty of the Washington National Cathedral, a 20th century Gothic cathedral, and one of the largest cathedrals of the world. Saturday, June 22, 2013. Embassy of France Summer Music, Garden and Dance Fete - Tickets only $10 and includes performances by over 50 bands and street performers. Each year on the summer solstice, the French gather in the streets to celebrate the change of seasons with la Fête de la musique -- a dynamic tapestry of music and dancing to the sound of both amateur and professional musicians. For the 11th consecutive year, the Embassy of France will recapture this lively atmosphere in its gardens. More than 50 bands and street performers are expected to attend, creating a spectrum of local artistic talent for your enjoyment. Throughout the afternoon and evening, relax at our terrace café while savoring barbecued specialties, French "assiettes" (assorted plates), pastries, cotton candy, coffee, beer, wine, and — of course — bubbly (food and drinks sold separately).
