Friday, August 01 An Evening in Buenos Aires: Two to Tango - Argentine Tango Lessons and Latin Dance Party at 18th Street Lounge. For only $16 join us at the candle lit 18th Street Lounge for a delightful evening of music and dance! Experience the Argentine Tango, one of the world's most passionate and romantic dances that bring to life the romantic flair of 1930s Argentina. Attend on your own or with friends. We’ll have you dancing the Argentine Tango as it is danced in Buenos Aires, even if you have never danced before. The Argentine Tango is known around the world for its romance and bold flair and this is your opportunity to learn the tango from an expert instructor as you meet ICDC members in a friendly and relaxed setting. Saturday, August 02 Tour of the US Capitol: Explore the exterior architectural majesty of Union Station, Library of Congress, and the Supreme Court, culminating in a tour of the US Capitol. Join us for a special private tour of the exterior architecture of the eastern end of the National Mall, culminating in the interior of the US Capitol. The tour starts at Union Station, where you will have the chance to enjoy the breathtaking 96-foot coffered ceilings which have made Union Station “one of the finest examples of Beaux-Arts style of architecture.” The tour will continue walking towards the Supreme Court and Library of Congress, as you take in from the outside the architectural wonder of the outer edifice of the buildings of the East National Mall, ending at the Capitol. Our Capitol tour starts with a 15 minute presentation of the history and architecture of this grand monument to democracy. Meet other ICDC members who appreciate the history and national heritage of United States. Our museum and gallery tours are some of our most popular events, and frequently sell out well in advance. Please reserve your tickets early, as capacity is limited.

Friday, August 08 Embassy of Saudi Arabia Dinner Reception and Cultural Presentation. We cordially request the pleasure of your company at a very special reception at the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia. Join us on your own or with friends to an evening of Saudi Arabian culture and cuisine along with the opportunity to meet the embassy staff and ICDC members with an interest in international cultures. The evening features a presentation of customary clothing from Saudi Arabia along with a film giving you insight into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia including its people, culture, and customs. Feel free to ask anything you ever wanted to know about customs, lifestyle, politics in Saudi Arabia in the Question and Answer Session following the film presentation. Sunday, August 10 Sunset Monuments Kayaking Adventure on the Potomac & picnic at our Georgetown dock. Conclude your weekend with a most memorable kayaking session by the Georgetown waterfront. Watch the sunset over the Potomac as we kayak around the Roosevelt Island with spectcular views of Georgetown and the Washington monuments. Gently floating just inches from the water is a wonderful way to experience the monuments! After the sunset, watch a full moon rise above the sky to illuminate the Potomac River and the monuments. Saturday, August 23, 2014. Library of Congress Guided Tour: Explore the exterior architectural majesty of Union Station and the Supreme Court culminating in a tour of the Library of Congress. Join us to discover one of the jewels of Washington DC architecture as we tour the world's largest library and what treasures lie in archives of hundreds of millions of books, films, and maps dating back to the time of the Aztecs. Our tour commences at Union Station where you will have the opportunity to meet and socialize with other ICDC members. At Union station enjoy the breathtaking 96-foot coffered ceilings which have made it one of the finest examples of Beaux-Arts architecture. Our walking tour continues with the exterior architecture of Union Station, the Supreme Court, and culminates in an interior tour of the Library of Congress. Friday, October 03, 2014. An Evening in Slovakia - Embassy of Slovakia Celebration of Art, Culture, Cuisine, and Wine. We cordially request the pleasure of your company at the Embassy of Slovakia for a very special celebration of Slovak culture, art, music, cuisine, and wine. Don't miss this rare opportunity to discover Slovakia through all your senses while you meet the embassy staff and ICDC members in attendance. The evening starts with a concert of traditional Slovak music. Afterwards you will enjoy a traditional dinner of Slovak culinary delights prepeared especially for us by the embassy chef. Friday, October 17, 2014. After Hours Soiree at the Kreeger Museum: An Exclusive and Delightful Art and Jazz Soiree with Monet, Picasso, Renoir, Cézanne, and your ICDC friends. The International Club of DC and the Kreeger Museum is pleased to present to you a wonderful evening of art and jazz! The Kreeger Museum, one of the world's finest museums of 19th and 20th century masterpieces of Monet, Picasso, Renoir, Cézanne, and others will be open just for ICDC members for an exclusive after-hours engagement featuring live jazz, appetizers, and cocktails. Tickets includes an open bar serving white wine and beer. Enjoy the exquisite surroundings of Philip Johnson’s architectural masterpiece while listening to jazz, sipping wine and viewing The Kreeger Museum’s special exhibition on display.
