Friday, September 5 An Evening in Buenos Aires: Two to Tango - Argentine Tango Lessons and Latin Dance Party at 18th Street Lounge. For only $16 join us at the candle lit 18th Street Lounge for a delightful evening of music and dance! Experience the Argentine Tango, one of the world's most passionate and romantic dances that bring to life the romantic flair of 1930s Argentina. Attend on your own or with friends. We’ll have you dancing the Argentine Tango as it is danced in Buenos Aires, even if you have never danced before. Wednesday, September 10 Georgetown Rooftop Jazz Soiree under the Stars at the Luxurious Graham Hotel. Join us on your own or with friends for our first rooftop soiree of the year at Georgetown’s finest and most luxurious rooftop bar and lounge. The Graham sets the stage for a night of networking and socializing to the sounds of our jazz ensemble. As you make new friends from around the world enjoy spectacular handcrafted specialty cocktails amidst the Washington skyline at a distance. Our rooftop soirees are quite popular and new members are especially welcome! Sunday, September 14 Sunset Monuments Kayaking Adventure on the Potomac & picnic at our Georgetown dock. Conclude your weekend with a most memorable kayaking session by the Georgetown waterfront. Watch the sunset over the Potomac as we kayak around the Roosevelt Island with spectcular views of Georgetown and the Washington monuments. Gently floating just inches from the water is a wonderful way to experience the monuments! After the sunset, watch a full moon rise above the sky to illuminate the Potomac River and the monuments. Friday, September 19 French Embassy Dance Soiree in Paris: Friday evening of wine & French crepes with Viennese waltz, Tango, & salsa lessons followed by an evening of dancing. Start your weekend festivities by joining us Friday evening at the Embassy of France for our dance soiree to dance the night away in the embassy’s ballroom while meeting other ICDC members and making new friends. You are welcome to come on your own or with friends. A dance partner or prior dance experience not needed to attend! Let us show you how to dance the Viennese Waltz, one of the most elegant and romantic ballroom dances followed by Tango and salsa! Saturday, September 20 Tour of the US Capitol: Explore the exterior architectural majesty of Union Station, Library of Congress, and the Supreme Court, culminating in a tour of the US Capitol. Join us for a special private tour of the exterior architecture of the eastern end of the National Mall, culminating in the interior of the US Capitol. The tour starts at Union Station, where you will have the chance to enjoy the breathtaking 96-foot coffered ceilings which have made Union Station “one of the finest examples of Beaux-Arts style of architecture.” The tour will continue walking towards the Supreme Court and Library of Congress, as you take in from the outside the architectural wonder of the outer edifice of the buildings of the East National Mall, ending at the Capitol. Our Capitol tour starts with a 15 minute presentation of the history and architecture of this grand monument to democracy. Meet other ICDC members who appreciate the history and national heritage of United States. Our museum and gallery tours are some of our most popular events, and frequently sell out well in advance. Sunday, September 21 Freer Art Gallery Tour: Discover art from America, Egypt, China, Japan, South Asia and the Islamic World.Join us for a special tour of the Highlights of the Freer Art Gallery. Discover the highlights of the Freer Gallery of Art including American paintings by James McNeill Whistler, Ancient Egyptian Art, Chinese Art dating from Neolithic times (ca. 7000–ca. 2000 B.C.E.), Korean Ceramics, South Asian and Himalayan Art and others. Space is limited. Wednesday, October 01 Embassy of Ukraine Concert for Peace: Delightful Concert of Ukrainian Music & Buffet Dinner Feast of Ukrainian Delicacies. Friday, October 17 After Hours Soiree at the Kreeger Museum: An Exclusive and Delightful Art and Jazz Soiree with Monet, Picasso, Renoir, Cézanne, and your ICDC friends.
