Each year on the summer solstice, the French gather in the streets to celebrate the change of seasons with la Fête de la musique — a dynamic tapestry of music and dancing to the sound of both amateur and professional musicians. For the tenth consecutive year, the Embassy of France will recapture this lively atmosphere in its gardens. More than 50 bands and street performers are expected to attend, creating a spectrum of local artistic talent for your enjoyment. Throughout the afternoon and evening, relax at our terrace café while savoring barbecued specialties, French "assiettes" (assorted plates), pastries, cotton candy, coffee, beer, wine, and — of course — bubbly (food and drinks sold separately). Get into the festive spirit with many other offerings from temporary tattoos, character drawings, to pictures in front of the Moulin Rouge and much more! As the sun goes down, dance into the night as a DJ spins some of your favorite tunes! Please note that La Fête de la Musique is the largest annual cultural festival organized at the Embassy of France each year! Consequently please note that the event is not presented as a sit down reception but rather a cultural festival designed for you to explore and enjoy all the festivities.
