Whether you’re a spirit novice or an enthusiast, you are invited to a fascinating tasting experience and networking reception as you indulge in a gin tasting experience as you meet ICDC members. Located within a series of historic 19th century row houses featuring neo-Renaissance architecture, District Distilling is located at the heart of the bustling 14th and U Street Corridors and the epicenter of one of DC's most diverse and culturally rich neighborhoods.
The distillery tour gives participants a first-hand look at the processes and equipment used in producing all of District Distillery's fine spirits, from grain to glass.
District Distilling takes great care in the crafting of their spirits, as they partner with suppliers for the finest ingredients, including many of the Mid-Atlantic's finest farmers. The gins are crated with juniper species not found in other gins, and wildcrafted from the West Texas mountains.
For the gin tasting, you will be presented with all three of the house-produced gins mentioned below. They offer a wonderful opportunity for experts and novices alike to try and differentiate gins from the two biggest gin categories, Dry and Western-Style, as well the chance to see what a few months in an oak barrel can do to the flavor, color and style of a gin. The gin tasting will include:
+ Checkerbark American Dry Gin
+ WildJune Western Style Gin
+ Checkerbark Barrel-Rested Gin.
The Charcuterie Offering Includes:
Cotto Rossa, Genitle, Calabrese salames, as well as Copa and Sopressata or similar selections based on availability.
Cheese Selections Includes:
Paski Sir, Epoisses, Petit Basque, Roquefort, and Camembert or similar selections, based on availability.
Please reserve your tickets soon, as our tastings frequently sell out well in advance as space is limited. Kindly note that the evening is presented as a gin tasting followed by networking reception and not as a seated event or dinner function. The gin tasting with cheese and Charcuterie is included with additional drinks or food available for purchase separately at the bar or restaurant.
