Event Description

Join us for a relaxing cruise to experience the cherry blossoms, one of the most magnificent annual spectacles in Washington DC. Our cruise last year sold out within days of announcing so please reserve your tickets early. We will depart from the Georgetown Waterfront for our cruise featuring spectacular panoramic views of the monuments and the DC skyline. Come by yourself or bring your friends to socialize with other ICDC members and make new friends.

~ Enjoy magnificent views of the Washington skyline
~ Experience views of the Cherry Blossoms amidst spectacular views of the monuments
~ Enjoy wine and other drinks available for purchase at the cash bar
~ One hour cruise departing from the Georgetown waterfront

Some of the monuments you will enjoy from the Potomac River include:

:: Kennedy Center
:: Key Bridge
:: Memorial Bridge
:: Roosevelt Island
:: Washington Monument
:: LBJ Memorial
:: Jefferson Memorial
:: U.S. Capitol
:: The Watergate
:: Lincoln Memorial
:: Maritime Memorial
:: Custis-Lee Mansion

The Yoshino trees typically bloom for a period of several days. The length of the blooming period depends on weather conditions. Cool, calm weather can extend the length of the bloom, and a rainy, windy day can bring an abrupt end to the ephemeral blossoms. A late frost can prevent the trees from blooming at all.

Forecasting peak bloom is almost impossible more than 10 days in advance. The cherry trees' blossom development is dependent on weather conditions, which are inherently variable. We've scheduled our cherry blossom cruise to coincide with the peak bloom period of recent past years but please note that due to weather and factors beyond our control that affect the peak bloom period, we are not able to guarantee the state of cherry blossoms during the cruise. Regardless of what nature may bring the cruise is a great opportunity to enjoy magnificent views of the DC skyline and the monuments amidst the sunset while meeting other ICDC members.
