Event Description

Channel your inner Luke Skywalker or Princess Leia and join us to learn the Olympic sport of Sabre Fencing with an amazing workout! Follow your swashbuckling dreams and join us for an exciting lesson on swordsmanship and chivalry. The lesson will cover the basics of fencing in a relaxed and fun setting. All the equipment needed will be provided and prior fencing experience is not needed to sign up. 

Through a combination  of drills and exercises, you will learn the fundamentals of footwork, bladework, and tactical actions and put it all together with some practice bouting.   Come challenge your mind and your body, have fun and pick up a few cool French words along the journey. The lesson will also focus on etiquette and safety. After the lesson, you will be able to practice your newly learned fencing skills with other ICDC members. 
Fencing lessons frequently sell out so please reserve your tickets early.

Please arrive at the designated time. After a few minutes to meet the other attendees, we will start the fencing lesson.

The 11:30 AM fencing session concludes at 1:30 PM.


The Capital fencing Academy is about a mile from the Twinbrook Metro on the Red Line. You can also reach the venue by exiting the White Flint Metro.

Parking is limited to street parking in the vicinity of the venue.
