We cordially request the pleasure of your company at "Vive La 80s", a French Embassy Dance Soiree to celebrate the music, dance, and exuberance of the 80s! Dress up in your favorite 80s inspire attire and join us on your own or with friends for the rare opportunity to dance the night away to 80s hits in the ballroom of the French Embassy.

DJ Freddy, is one of the most versatile international dance music connoisseurs in Europe and the United States.   Born in Rio de Janeiro, the half-Dutch, half-British disc-jockey has had exposure to all three major music markets since the Golden 80's and 90's decades.  A true vinyl-lover and music collector, DJ Freddy also carries a huge bag of tricks in the digital world of mixing, including layered effects in live remixing with on-the-fly digital drumming.  All in all, the use of musical creativity and focus on sound mixing quality and dropping the right song at the right time makes DJ Freddy your choice in maximizing sound entertainment to any contemporary dance music event to time-travel theme parties. The event concludes at 10:30 PM with bar service ending at 10:15 PM.

The event is structured as a dance soiree to meet, network, and socialize with ICDC members as you enjoy an evening of dancing at the French Embassy. As such kindly note that the event is not presented as a seated event and we kindly ask for your patience and understanding while we work with our event partners to present you a wonderful evening. 

Reserve your tickets now as space is limited. For a limited time discounted tickets are available and ticket prices are subject to increase without notice as we reach capacity for the event. The current ticket price is listed below.

Due to enhanced security at the French Embassy, photo ID is REQUIRED for attendance. Please ensure all ticketholders and each guest attending with a ticketholder has valid photo ID. We are unable to issue a refund if you are denied entry due to lack of photo ID.

We need a complete guest list of all the attendees for security purposes at the entrance so if you reserve more than one ticket, please e-mail us the full name of each guest. All guests must be 21 and over.

Kindly note that your contribution is unrelated to the embassy or venue the event is being presented at and all proceeds from the event are used solely by International Club of DC Inc. to cover expenses related to presenting cultural events to our members.

Map/Parking

If driving, street parking will be available on Reservoir Road and throughout the surrounding neighborhoods. Also, there is a pay lot located across the street at Georgetown University Hospital. Due to security considerations, parking WILL NOT be available on the grounds of the Embassy of France.

If using public transportation, the D6 Metro Bus towards Sibley Hospital drops off directly in front of the embassy. Due to limited parking, we recommend Uber, public transportation or a cab.

Parking is limited to street parking in the vicinity of the venue. Kindly note that, as is the case in most major cities, the availability of street parking in Washington DC is limited and beyond our control. Due to the limited availability of parking, we highly recommend a cab, Uber/Lyft or other transportation option. The event start at the designated time so please allow sufficient time for traffic/travel/transportation and parking as these factors are beyond our control.
