Event Description

You are cordially invited to escape with us to amazing Peru, one of the world’s most wondrous travel destinations. Your evening at the Embassy of Peru includes a presentation of Peruvian art as well as a dinner buffet of traditional Peruvian delicacies and Pisco Sour, their National cocktail. You will have a wonderful evening whether you attend on your own or invite your friends to join us.

Peru is the third largest country in South America and its home to a section of Amazon rainforest and Machu Picchu, an ancient Inca city high in the Andes Mountains. Peru’s steady gastronomic ascent over the past 15 years has accelerated to a rapid boom, a source of national pride and a motor of the economy as increasing numbers of tourists head there to sample the original and varied cuisine. Join us to discover beautiful Peru!

Dinner Buffet Menu (Selections may change)

Aji de Gallina
Shredded chicken stew that is slightly spicy and bright yellow from the famous aji amarillo peppers.  This dish is served with Basmati rice, boiled yellow potatoes and slice of hard-boiled egg.
Seco de Res
Cilantro beef stew.  It’s a bright plate that comes from colors form fresh vegetable.  Comes with Basmati rice and frijol Canario
Quinoa Salad topped with Avocado from Peru
With rainbow peppers, cucumber, carrots, cilantro, onions and tomato
Mini Beef empanadas
Shredded beef with peppers & onions
Vegetable mini causa
A causa is a Peruvian dish that involves a vegetable salas on top  seasoned yellow potatoes.

Please note that the event is presented as a stand-up buffet dinner reception so you can walk around the embassy to enjoy various facets of the event and not as a seated function. If you have any special considerations, please let us know in advance so we may assist you.

The Embassy is just a few blocks from the DuPont Circle Metro on the Red Line. Please note that parking in the vicinity of the Embassy is limited to street parking. Metro or other transportation service is recommended.
