Event Description

Join us at the candle lit 18th Street Lounge for an evening of salsa and merengue lessons followed by Latin dancing! Let us show you how to dance the salsa and merengue, two of the most popular and exciting Latin dances, even if you have never danced before! 

You are welcome to attend on your own or with friends as a partner or prior dance experience are not needed to attend. Don't miss this opportunity to learn how to dance the salsa and merengue from an expert instructor as you meet ICDC members in a friendly and relaxed setting. After the lesson, dance the evening away with complimentary access to one of the most exclusive lounges in DC, as you meet and socialize with other friendly ICDC members in the intimate setting of 18th Street Lounge. 

Drink specials will be offered for the first hour of the event. Please note that all attendees must be 21 and over.
 

Event Agenda (May change)

Please look for us either in the second floor "Gold Room" or the third floor "Jazz Bar" when you arrive. Kindly note that Photo ID is required for admission to the venue. Please arrive on time for the dance lessons.

7:00 PM Check in starts (all attendees must be 21 and over).
Please arrive early to meet and socialize with other attendees over your favorite cocktail.

Salsa and Merengue Lessons
No dance partner is needed, as we will rotate partners during the lesson.

8:00 PM or shortly thereafter, dance party with dancing to salsa, merengue, and other Latin music until 9:00 PM.

At 9:30 PM the DJs and bands at 18th Street Lounge take over the entertainment for a night of dancing! Please note that 18th Street Lounge may charge a cover-charge for guests entering after 8:30 PM. Please be sure to arrive prior to 8:30 PM so you can join us for the Salsa and Merengue Dance Soiree and stay on to enjoy dancing into the night as the Friday evening festivities at 18th Street Lounge get under way. We are unable to guarantee admittance if you arrive after 9:00 PM.

9:00 PM ICDC Event concludes but you are welcome to stay at 18th Street Lounge to enjoy an evening of music and dance.

Parking is limited to street parking in the vicinity of the venue. Kindly note that, as is the case in most major cities, the availability of street parking in Washington DC is limited and beyond our control. Due to the limited availability of parking, we highly recommend a cab, Uber/Lyft or other transportation option. The event start at the designated time so please allow sufficient time for traffic/travel/transportation and parking as these factors are beyond our control.
