Event Description

The International Club of DC, with the cooperation of the Embassy of Indonesia, cordially requests the pleasure of your company for a very special evening of Indonesian culture, music and dance at the Embassy of Indonesia.

:: Traditional Indonesian Dinner Buffet

The evening includes a traditional Indonesian dinner buffet with a wine. Please note that capacity for this very special and unique celebration is limited and we invite you to make your reservations early.

:: Live Gamelan Music and Traditional Indonesian Dance

On this occasion, we will present a Gamelan Performance under the direction master musician and Javanese dancer from the Embassy of Indonesian Mr. Muryanto.

Gamelan is an Indonesian musical ensemble featuring a variety of traditional Indonesian instruments such as metallophones, xylophones, drums and gongs, bamboo flutes, bowed and plucked strings. In Indonesia, gamelan usually accompanies dance, performances, or rituals and special ceremonies.

The Gamalan ensemble will perform stories of Ramayana stories based on Hindu epics adapted to Javanese Culture . Based on the stories Rama & Sinta. The dance movement is very classical from Central Java.

Don’t miss this very rare treat as we have made arrangements to present a special concert and performance of traditional costumed Indonesian singers and dancers.

Due to security and space considerations, you must make a reservation in advance to attend. Please arrive with photo ID that matches the name on your reservation. Due to strict security considerations all guest must have a reservation and photo ID to attend.
