Friday, August 29 Embassy of France Friday Night Dance Soiree and Lessons: Learn to dance the Tango and Merengue. Got plans for Friday night? Start your weekend with a dance soiree at the Embassy of France. We have combined one of our popular dance lessons at the Embassy of France with a night of ballroom dancing following the dance lessons. This is also a wonderful opportunity to learn and practice dancing in time for our Masquerade Ball and Anniversary Gala at the National Museum of Women in the Arts on Saturday October 25. Saturday, September 06 Rock Creek Park Hike. Rock Creek Park offers numerous trails to help escape the urban life. Join us for a relaxing hike to discover one of Washington’s hidden treasures and an oasis of nature. Join us for our September Happy Hour at the rooftop of the Embassy Row Hilton Hotel to enjoy panoramic summertime views of downtown and surrounding monuments. Wednesday, September 17 Embassy of France Jazz Concert and Wine Reception Featuring the Marlon Simon French Latin Jazz Project. The performance is followed by a wine reception to meet the artists as well as ICDC members in attendance. Please reserve your tickets soon, as capacity at the auditorium is limited. Thursday, September 25: Embassy of Poland Dinner Reception and Piano Concert. We cordially requests the pleasure of your company for an evening of music, culture, art, and cuisine at the Embassy of Poland. This is a wonderful and rare opportunity to discover Poland through all your senses. The evening begins with a short presentation about Poland. Afterwards sit back and relax to a delightful piano concert performed by child prodigy Jeffrey Ly featuring the works Chopin. Afterwards feast on a buffet of traditional Polish delicacies prepared by the embassy chef along with wine and Polish spirits served at the open bar. Please reserve your tickets online.

Just in time for our Fifth Anniversary Gala and Masquerade Ball, we have combined our popular dance lessons at the Embassy of France with a night of ballroom dancing following the dance lessons. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn to dance and practice dancing while meeting other ICDC members. Let us show you how to dance the tango, one of the most elegant and romantic ballroom dances followed by merengue one of the most popular and exciting Latin dances! This is also a wonderful opportunity to learn and practice dancing in time for our Masquerade Ball and Anniversary Gala at the National Museum of Women in the Arts on Saturday October 25. Wednesday, September 10, 2008. An Evening in Buenos Aires - Argentine Tango Lessons and Latin dance party. The International Club of DC is pleased to invite you to "An Evening in Buenos Aires." Spend an evening with us and let us show you how to dance the Argentine Tango as it is danced in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Start your evening with a Tango lesson and enjoy a night of music, dancing, and good company. After the class, MezeTango dancers will offer you a special show, high in color and elegance, commemorating the glamorous years of the 1930s. The night continues with dancing to tango and Latin music. You are welcome to come by yourself. Saturday, September 13, 2008. Fencing Lessons Including Equipment Rentals. Join us for an exciting lesson on swordsmanship and chivalry. The lesson will cover the basics of fencing in a relaxed, fun, and SAFE setting. All equipment will be provided. After the lesson, practice your fencing skills with other attendees. Sunday, September 14, 2008. Indian cooking class with lunch and dessert at Georgetown. We had such a great time at our last Indian cooking class, we have scheduled another one by popular demand. This month we are pleased to present a very unique and exciting tour for our members who love art! Sunday, September 14, 2008. Sunset and Moonlight kayaking on the Potomac & picnic at our Georgetown dock. We have timed one of our popular sunset kayaking sessions at Georgetown to coincide with a full moon to make the experience even more spectacular. Sunday, September 21, 2008. Waterfall Hiking trip to Great Falls Park, Maryland. Great falls is a hidden gem of a National Park located just minutes from DC where the Potomac plunges seventy-six feet through a deep gorge creating a series of scenic waterfalls. Thursday, October 16, 2008. Ballroom Dance Lesson and Dance Party Rehearsal for Masquerade Ball: Learn the Viennese Waltz, as danced in Vienna. Whether you plan to attend our Masquarade Ball at the National Museum of Women in the Arts or would simply like to learn how to dance the Viennese Waltz, as it is danced in Vienna, don't miss this opportunity to learn how to dance one of the most timeless and romantic dances of all time. The lessons will be taught on the exquisite marble dance floor of the the grand ballroom of the National Museum of Women in the Arts. The Viennese waltz lessons will be taught by Carol Traxler. A Native of Austria, Mr. Traxler has taught the Viennese waltz to hundreds of enthusiastic dancers in the Washington, DC, area -- at the White House, the Smithsonian, and the Austrian Embassy.
