The International Club of DC and the Russian Chamber Arts Society cordially requests the pleasure of your company at the Embassy of Austria for a delightful evening of classical music. The concert is followed by a reception of delectable desserts along with wine served at the open bar. Enjoy a celebration of the music of composers of Russian heritage who wrote for the silver screen from the 1930s to the 1970s, including Irving Berlin and Gershwin. Featured artists include Carmen Balthrop (soprano), Timothy Mix (baritone), and Genady Zagor (piano).
You are welcome to attend on your own or with friends. Tickets for the rare delight of a classical concert and reception at the Austrian Embassy, one of the most magnificent embassies in Washington DC, are only $50 for a limited time. Please reserve your tickets early as space is limited and our previous classical concert at the Austrian Embassy sold out in advance.
The performance will focus on the work of Shostakovich, arguably the greatest Russian composer born in the 20th century, using the poetry of Burns, Shakespeare and Raleigh. Other composers include Glinka, Dargomyzhsky, and Rachmaninov (Piano Interlude).
