Gentlemen are invited to dig out their 1920s attire and top hats or dress in swanky period attire. Black tie optional.

Join us at the Embassy of France for our Great Gatsby Ball, to celebrate summer and dance the night away to our live orchestra. Whisper the password (or present your ticket!) to enter the secret world of speakeasy and discover the magnificent French Embassy reinvented for a night into a page from the F. Scotts Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby.

Attend on your own or with friends to welcome summer with sophisticated celebration of music, art, wine, desserts and dancing at one of DC's most magnificent embassies! Experience the glamour, elegance, and extravagance of 1920s America as characterized in F. Scott Fitzgerald's "The Great Gatsby. A magical night of dancing awaits you as our live orchestra entertains with thrilling 1920s era tunes whether you dance the night away or simply enjoy a sophisticated evening with us at the Embassy of France.

As you enjoy the evening, indulge in our Great Gatsby dessert feast with wine and drinks served at the open bar. Our gala last year sold out so reserve your discounted tickets now! Our Gatsby Ball is the the perfect setting to experience the romance and thrilling excitement of 1920s America. As you enjoy your night, dance the night away at the French Embassy amidst the artwork of the embassy.

Upgrade your Great Gatsby Experience with a candlelight reception before the gala starts with music by a jazz ensemble, open bar during the reception with free-flowing champagne, and expedited check-in as you arrive.
Either join us at 7:30 PM for a VIP champagne reception with a French buffet dinner by the French Embassy chef or join us at 9:00 PM to dance the night away while enjoying delectable French desserts and an open bar.

General Admission guests will be served a delectable dessert buffet with an open bar. Please note that as stated on the agenda below, dinner is not included with General Admission Tickets so we recommend that you have dinner prior to arriving if you reserve a General Admission ticket. All attendees must be 21 and over. 

See below for a video of a past Gatsby Ball we've hosted at the National Museum of Women in the Arts for a glimpse of what to expect. Our Gatsby Ball this year will be hosted at the Embassy of France and we look forward to seeing you at the French Embassy! Please note that the Gatsby Ball is presented as a formal ball with dancing to an orchestra and not a seated event. As such though there will be a limited amount of seating offered at the event and seating is not guaranteed at all times.

11:00 PM our DJ takes the stage to turn the music up a notch with dance hits from around the world.

Map/Parking

If driving, street parking will be available on Reservoir Road and throughout the surrounding neighborhoods. Also, there is a pay lot located across the street at Georgetown University Hospital.

Due to security considerations, parking WILL NOT be available on the grounds of the Embassy of France.

If using public transportation, the D6 Metro Bus towards Sibley Hospital drops off directly in front of the embassy. Due to limited parking public transportation, a cab, or driving service is highly recommended.
