Event Description

Each year, in November; a fresh batch of Beaujolais Nouveau wine is released in France, shipped throughout the world and enjoyed by thousands! This special tradition is celebrated each year at the Embassy of France and is a must for party-goers who appreciate French "savoir-vivre."

The Beaujolais and Beyond Celebration is a French cultural "Fete" that will take place in accordance with popular French annual tradition and custom for uncorking the Beaujolais Nouveau wine. "Beaujolais and Beyond" will welcome wine lovers, foodies, Francophiles and party goers to the Maison Francaise, Embassy of France in Georgetown.

We will serve light fare from leading DC restaurants, accompanied by French breads, cheeses, pâtés and pastries. Guests will be treated to free-flowing Beaujolais Nouveau wine. Beer, sparkling wine, and other wines available for purchase at the cash bar. The festivities will include a well-known Washingtonian D.J., dancing, French wine, silent auction and a raffle drawing for round-trip tickets to Paris. Beaujolais and Beyond is a must for lovers of savoir-vivre!

VIP Tasting Reception guests will enjoy an open bar until 8:00 PM. Afterwards enjoy free-flowing Beaujolais Nouveau wine. Beer, sparkling wine, and other wines available for purchase at the cash bar. General Admission guests will enjoy free-flowing Beaujolais Nouveau wine. Beer, sparkling wine, and other wines available for purchase at the cash bar.

Please Note:
The event is organized as a festival of wine. As such there are many facets to the evening and the evening is planned so that you can mingle and walk inside the embassy to discover and celebrate French culture and cuisine. Kindly note that the event is not organized as a seated function or dinner event but rather as a cocktail reception with light fare.

Due to security considerations at the embassy, we are unable to accept walk-ins. You must reserve a ticket in advance to attend this event. Absolutely no door sales. All guests must be strictly 21 and over.

6:30 – 8:00 PM VIP Tasting Reception Admission
Make your experience extra special with a VIP Tasting Reception until 7:30 PM. A hundred of our top-tier members and well-known personalities from Washingtonian political and professional circles will be in attendance. VIP Guests arrive an hour and a half in advance of the Beaujolais & Beyond Celebration to enjoy tastings of food and wine. Open bar until 8:00 PM for VIP guests and after that enjoy free-flowing Beaujolais Nouveau wine with beer, sparkling wine, and other wines available for purchase at the cash bar.

8:00 – 11:00 PM Beaujolais and Beyond Celebration Admission
Enjoy light fare from leading DC restaurants, accompanied by French breads, cheeses, pates and pastries. Guests will be treated to free-flowing Beaujolais Nouveau wine with beer, sparkling wine, and other wines available for purchase at the cash bar. The festivities will include a dancing to a DJ, a silent auction and a raffle drawing for round-trip tickets to Paris. The event concludes at 11:00PM.

Please ensure that you arrive at the French Embassy by 9:30 PM as Embassy Security may conclude admission to the event at 9:30 PM.

Map/Parking

If driving, street parking will be available on Reservoir Road and throughout the surrounding neighborhoods. Also, there is a pay lot located across the street at Georgetown University Hospital. Due to security considerations, parking WILL NOT be available on the grounds of the Embassy of France.

If using public transportation, the D6 Metro Bus towards Sibley Hospital drops off directly in front of the embassy. Due to limited parking, we recommend Uber, public transportation or a cab.
